Puntaris is an academic gamification SaaS platform built to modernize the way educational institutions motivate students and manage academic performance. The platform is designed for universities, schools, academies, and educational organizations looking to increase classroom participation, encourage engagement, and digitize academic tracking through a point-based reward system.
The system allows teachers to assign points to students across multiple configurable categories, such as classroom participation, in-class activities, platform-based activities, and manual evaluations. Every student action contributes to their overall progress, enabling them to earn virtual coins, level up, unlock badges, and compete on course leaderboards. All progress is displayed in real time through interactive dashboards and personalized student profiles.
Puntaris also includes a complete academic activity system featuring auto-graded quizzes and manually reviewed open-ended assignments. Activities can be configured with deadlines, retries, instant feedback, and automatic result publication. Teachers can manage each student’s full point history, create corrective point entries when necessary, and collaborate with co-teachers within the same course.
The platform is built on a secure multi-tenant architecture where every institution’s data is fully isolated through institution-based filtering and Firebase Authentication using JWTs and custom claims. The system supports multiple permission levels: a Master Admin responsible for managing institutions globally, institution administrators who control users and courses, teachers who manage classes and activities, and students who can access only their own academic and gamified data.
From an administrative perspective, Puntaris provides advanced tools for educational institutions, including bulk student imports via Excel, point history exports, password reset management, configurable user limits, and institution-wide analytics dashboards. The platform was developed using modern technologies such as Next.js 15, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Firestore, and Firebase Authentication, and is deployed on Vercel to ensure scalability, performance, and security.
